Halfway there;; Livin' on a PRAYER Kayla rested her head gently against Brayden's chest, her eyes wide open. She was in the middle of having a nightmare and tears were streaming down her face. Kayla was dreaming about not being able to create her own family because of an illness. She tried to keep quiet, but she was shivering. Kayla hadn't heard her alarm clock go off, which meant it was still pretty early. Kayla loved getting up early, but this was way too early. She sat up in bed and pulled the blankets over her, wrapping them around her and leaving the thin sheet draped over her fiancee. Kayla went back to her usual sleeping position and tried to fall asleep again but failed. She sighed and took the blankets off of her, putting them gently on top of Brayden before she walked over to their closet. Kayla changed out of her pyjamas and into an outfit which she usually wore for work. If Kayla couldn't sleep, baking was the only way to calm her down. She quietly went into the bathroom and got herself ready, putting on makeup and some jewelry before she went into the kitchen. Her plan was to make a batch of muffins, which Brayden could take to the surf shop. Kayla pulled out her tablet, searching Pinterest for a recipe. She began measuring out the dry ingredients, thinking about putting on some music but thought against it when she remembered that Brayden was still asleep. |
